Two new speed cameras were activated in the 1400 block of North East Street.
One event going on this weekend that I forgot to mention is the Outlaw Jam 2. The concert spans Saturday and Sunday at the Frederick Fairgrounds and tickets are still available. The FNP has more on the concert and Want2Dish has a profile of the Black Widow (a female pool player) who will also be at the event.
Registration open for annual 72 Film Fest in Frederick. More about the event from the FNP.
This is scary: “As fire safety and law enforcement officials continue to investigate a series of about 10 suspicious fires in recent months, including a pair on Sunday, many residents of the West Eighth Street and Young Place neighborhood live in fear their home may be next.”
The Frederick Film Office is “looking for an older, ranch style home on a long dirt or gravel road, preferably a winding road with not too many trees around the house, but we will look at anything. It’s for a Lifetime Network movie and time is of the essence. FYI, for the house, they are willing to pay a location fee for one day of filming.” Via @tourfrederickmd
This is a nice piece about the small bit of the Appalachian Trail that runs through Frederick. I’ve never been hiking there, I should really remedy that soon.
