  1. Anyone know what they are planning to build on Monoacy Blvd right off Route 15 highway. That area used to be a cornfield but they are digging and build something. Anyone know about this?

  2. Does anybody know what is going to go into the old spot where the Canal Street Bar used to be? I see they have done some construction to the face of the building, and they got building permit signs posted.

  3. There’s a small building near the creek and the Fritchie house that used to be a day labor hiring business. Now it’s painted a pretty hideous overly bright blue and has a banner that says “Teahouse and Fine Dining.” It doesn’t look like a place that would offer either. Anyone know anything?

  4. Yes, they used to located in old home on East Patrick Street across from the big antique store on East Patrick Street. They have excellent food and hot teas. The old place had more character in my opinion. I wish them the best in their new location.

    • Oh, so it is Serenity Tea Room’s new location. 😦 I loved the row house that they were in. The color alone of this “new” place would make it hard to get past the front door.

  5. Just a heads up, I moved hosting of the site and I think a comment or two may have gotten lost in the shuffle. Sorry for the inconveince! Please re-post your comment if it’s missing!

  6. Linda, i agree.. There wkill be more tables, but they are going to lose a lot of the ambiance the old place had. The owner is such a lady and I wish her the best.

  8. In the Westview Promenade shopping center, on the far end near the Sleepy’s, there is a “coming soon” sign in front of one of the spaces for “Mayta’s Peruvian Cuisine”. Looks like part of the website is up already.
