Frederick gets a minor league soccer team

Minor league soccer coming to Frederick. I missed this news when it first came out, but it sounds cool:

The NPSL, a fourth-tier U.S. Soccer organization, features more than 60 teams, and FC Frederick will compete in the six-team Mid-Atlantic Conference of the NPSL’s Northeast Region along with ASA Charge, Chesterfield United FC, Fredericksburg FC, Legacy 76 and Virginia Beach City FC.

Hood College will host all of FC Frederick’s five home games, with the first two tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. May 29 and 4 p.m. May 31.

Admission is $5, and the club has explored the option of selling $20 T-shirts that will serve as season tickets.
