Come out and enjoy Frederick’s 32nd Annual In the Street Festival on Saturday, September 13. This beloved celebration shows off all that Frederick has to offer, including art, food, entertainment, and fun for all ages. The festivities begin with the “Market Street Mile” at 8:45 am, then lead directly into the In the Street Festival from 11 am to 5 pm and end with the official after festival party – “Up the Creek” at 5:00 pm in the Carroll Creek Amphitheater.
MARKET STREET MILE, 8:45 am
Kick off In the Street with this one-mile run down Market Street. Designed for beginners and experts alike, the run features various heats including Women’s Mile, Men’s Mile, Family Mile, and more! Pre-registration is recommended, by mail or online at celebratefrederick.com. Day-of registration begins at 7:30 am at the Frederick YMCA. Proceeds benefit the Panther’s Running Club at Lincoln Elementary School, supported by the Frederick Steeplechaser Running Club and the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek.
IN THE STREET FESTIVAL, 11 am – 5pm
The day’s activities are set to begin at 11 am on Saturday morning. Get ready for a day filled with your favorite local shops and vendors throughout downtown Frederick, and be prepared to discover some new favorites too. The food, entertainment and vendors will be located on Market Street beginning at South Market Street and Carroll Creek and continuing up to North Market Street and 7th Street.

Carousel Rogues, Noon – 1 pm
Carousel Rogues formed in 2006 in Frederick, Maryland from Caitlin’s home demos. Caitlin and Zach remained the core members with Daniel joining as a staple in late 2008. After being approached by Nashville producer Ben Shive, the band recorded a self-titled album released in the Spring of 2011.
Twin Radio, 1:30 – 2:45 pm
With their debut album, “The Coast of Indigo,” Twin Radio walk a very fine line. They are able to merge two different worlds of rock music together to make a record any demographic will be able to rock out to.
Mayweather, 3:15 – 4:30 pm
Mayweather hails from Western Maryland. They were first in their hometown to take the cheesy little idea of “ska” to a progressive level. They were officially founded in 2010 and since then, they have played hundreds of venues all over the east coast.

Seven x Seventy is a fresh Contemporary Christian Rock band that recently began playing Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania area venues. They are seeking to expand their ministry to anywhere they can sing God’s praises to the public.
The Market Street Big Band, 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Comprising some of the Baltimore/Washington DC area’s top musicians, The Market Street Big Band can enhance any occasion with music ranging from the traditional sound of the famous Big Band era featuring jazz, swing and Latin tunes.
Donegal X-Press, 2 – 3 pm
The Donegal X-Press has emerged as one of the premiere Irish-American roots rock groups in the country. This high energy, six-piece outfit has gained praise and fans from New York to Ireland, Baltimore to Nashville and beyond.
Higher Hands, 3:30 – 5 pm
Higher Hands has reintroduced themselves. From the Kennedy Center in DC to the Bowery Ballroom in NYC, the band has been on their grind, burning up stages. Hailing from Maryland’s capital city, the band has firmly established their reputation throughout the DMV for a tight live set and an ability to improvise with the best.

Four on the Floor is an all-acoustic blend of four part harmonies that combine to present Modern and Classic tunes to a wide range of audiences. In one set you might hear anything from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young to Goo Goo Dolls to Old Crow Medicine Show and Bare Naked Ladies and right back around to Bob Dylan!
Blue Sky 5, 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Whether you love to lindy hop or just appreciate good vintage jazz, you can dig all that jive with Blue Sky 5. The band’s repertoire consists of songs made popular by Count Basie, Nat Cole, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Fats Waller, along with tunes by other swing era artists.
Natty Beaux, 2:15 to 3:15 pm
A fun-lovin’, finger snappin’, hoppin’ and boppin’ combo, Natty Beaux is features musicians from some of the Mid-Atlantic region’s finest groups! This is good-time music sure to bring fun and excitement.
The Uncle Jack Band, 3:45 to 5 pm
Touted as Maryland’s premiere 70′s funk, disco and Motown band, The Uncle Jack Band is known for an infectious vibe that gets everyone on their feet.

Laurence McKenna was born and raised in England and then emigrated to the US in the early 90′s to pursue a career in music. He covers a wide range of music genres which include, Folk, Pop and Rock.

Effortlessly balancing the tightrope between Pop, Country, Americana, and Indie Rock, Shane Gamble’s music comes across like a freight train heading full steam on the road less traveled.
The Jug Band, 3:30 – 5 pm
From the humble backyard of beginnings rises The Jug Band from the Wilds of Downtown Frederick. The band focuses on good time music…from reinterpreted standards and classics to heartfelt originals, all harkening back to those summer nights with a fire in the backyard, a warm feeling in your soul, and the people you love all around you.

Can’t get enough of In the Street? Continue the festivities at the Up the Creek Party presented by KEY103! Everyone’s favorite after-party will be held at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater immediately after In the Street from 5:00 to 9:00 pm in the Carroll Creek Amphitheater.
Enjoy music and adult beverages, including beer from Frederick’s own Flying Dog Brewery. All garden guests must be 21 years of age or older with valid I.D. to enter and drink.
IN THE STREET FAQ
The City of Frederick has four convenient parking decks downtown. The Carroll Creek, Court Street, W. Patrick Street and Church Street parking decks all offer parking in close proximity to the event. Cost is $6 to park all day on Saturdays. To access the Church Street parking deck, take East Street to East Second Street. There will be a sign for the entrance to the parking deck on the left hand side of the street. Patrick Street provides access to the Carroll Creek and W. Patrick Street parking decks. The Court Street parking deck can be accessed by taking Bentz Street to Church Street, and then turning right onto Court Street. The parking deck is located on the left hand side. Handicapped parking is available in all four parking decks.
On the Town Limousines will be providing complimentary drop off and pick up at two areas of the event. You can catch a ride from one end of the event to the other at the following stops: E. 7th Street and N. Market Street (Just past Lucky Corner Restaurant) and W. All Saints Street and S. Market Street (Adjacent to Neutre Inc Salon & Spa)
Shuttles will run approximately every 30 minutes and will stop only at one of these locations.
Most of the roads surrounding the event remain open. South Street on the south end and Seventh Street on the north end of town remain open. Patrick Street is also open throughout the day.
Several areas are conveniently located throughout the event for those wishing to enjoy an alcoholic beverage. Alcohol is not permitted at In The Street except when consumed in a pubs and restaurants or in one of the following areas:

A CITY ORDINANCE PROHIBITS PETS AT IN THE STREET, WHICH INCLUDES REPTILES. Large crowds and loud noises are not healthy for pets, so please leave them at home. Code Enforcement will be on hand to enforce this ordinance.
All participants must be approved by the In The Street Committee and receive a license from The City of Frederick Office of Special Events. If you are interested in being involved, please call The City of Frederick Office of Special Events to be placed on the invitation list for next year, 2015. Code Enforcement representatives will be on-site to verify that all participants display the licenses distributed by the Office of Special Events.
Lost and Found
Event Information Booths serve as lost and found collection sites. Found items not claimed will be taken to The City of Frederick Office of Special Events, William Talley Recreation Center, 121 North Bentz St, 301-600-2844. All items will be kept for thirty days.
If your child is lost, please report immediately to one of the Event Information Booths. Committee members and volunteers will have access to emergency personnel throughout the event.
A city ordinance (Section 10-2 City Code) finds the throwing cigarette butts on the ground as a Municipal Infraction. Violators will face a fine of $50 and possibly be charged with the cost of clean-up.
Please report any suspicious or inappropriate activity to one of the information booths or any event day volunteer. All will have access to promptly contact law enforcement and emergency personnel throughout the park. If you experience a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911.
The activities and entertainment will stop during the storm, but are scheduled to resume once the storm passes. Please use common sense when seeking shelter from the storm: don’t stand under trees.
