Friends of Baker Park’s plan for Culler Lake moves forward – The Frederick News-Post : Natural Resource

Anglers could be dropping a line in a cleaned-up Culler Lake by summer 2015, with the chance of hooking a catfish.

The Friends of Baker Park will get started this year on the organization’s long-term plan to clean and beautify the lake, near West College Terrace and West Second Street, in Baker Park.

Residents are most excited about the parts of the project that will enhance the atmosphere and restore recreation around the lake, such as rebuilding the stone fountain, but the most important part is improving the health of the lake, which was created as a stormwater management project in 1939, said Peter Brehm, board president of Friends of Baker Park.
