  1. Has anyone tried the new Mexican place that just opened in the 7th St Shopping Center? I can’t remember the name to look up a link but I thinks it’s something like Las Toltecas?

    • I have to agree, nothing special and I thought a little pricey too. I prefer Fajita Grande here in Frederick, and I’m still willing to drive to Germantown for Mi Rancho, I love their fajitas with their fresh tortillas.

  2. Yes, went there for lunch last week. Sorry to report that it’s nothing special. Would rather go to Fajita Grande. I grew up in California though, so my Mexican food palette is a bit different than most…

    • I hear that. I grew up in California, live in Arizona for 3 years, traveled into Mexico and thru Texas and New Mexico. I’ve been asked which “mexican” restaurant I think is best in town and my answer is always “None of them. They’re all TV dinner quality.” And I mean it. The absolute worst is probably La Paz followed by El Paso…..after that it’s just tolerable. And NOBODY makes real, fat, thick, tamales the way they should be made. These pencil thin specimans that are touted everywhere outside of CA are crap. Period.

      • Oh yeah, the only thing La Paz has is: Location and maybe the Queso Dip.
We found a Taco Bar in Gaithersburg near Lake Forest Mall: http://www.eattortacos.com/

No tamales, but pretty good Taco / Burrito California style options – including a good fish taco!

      • Ooo! Love a good fish taco! Agreed – La Paz has location and we only go there to have a beer on the patio. now and then.
