  1. We’re planning to be at Brewers Alley around 2 pm so that we can sit on the patio and just dawdle til the bikes line up. Might have to drink 2 – 3 pints of good brew….ah, the sacrifices. πŸ™‚

      • We got there at 2:20 pm and had to sit in the outdoor area at the back of the restaurant. Left there around 3:20 pm, got iced coffees at Starbucks, and then went across the street and sat at the curb in front of the “One of a Kind” store. I had on khaki shorts and a dark blue polo shirt, hubby had on darker shorts and a very bright blue polo shirt. We stayed for the entire hour of the race and had a blast!

      • We probably walked right past each other. I was very impressed by the crowd turn out. It was an absolutely beautiful day in downtown Frederick!

      • Gypsy, I was across the street from the One of a Kind store for a while, taking pictures of the bicycles and riders…. and the crowd. I’m pretty sure I must have snapped at least a couple showing you and your hubby! What a gorgeous day–I’m really glad I came downtown for the event. Such fun to see folks on high-wheelers…don’t think I’ve ever witnessed that before!

  2. I was one of the racers in the HIGH WHEEL RACE (full beard, red flying wheel on back) and wish to thank all the people that either came out to cheer us on or help around the course. I have taken by bike to towns and cities around the world and no crowd has been better than the one in Frederick.

    • Ah, so you are the guy with the full beard, Steve! I got you on pics several times! A big thanks to you and all the participants and the event’s organizers for bringing this race to Frederick. Everyone seemed to have a blast, and I had a field day with my camera! Hopefully this will not be the last High-Wheel Race in the streets of Frederick!
