  1. I heard over the weekend that a new Petsmart and Corner Bakery are suppose to come to Frederick in one of the shopping centers on Rt. 26. Can anyone confirm this?

    • we’ve used Gary L. Bloomfield (Doorman of Frederick) 301-695-6052 several times, and have recommended him to neighbors who were also pleased. We thought we’d need a new garage door, and Gary not only solved the problem, he fixed the damage and gave us some great hints on how to keep everything running better…for less than most folks charge for even coming out to see if there’s a problem.

  2. We dined at the new Baja Fresh this evening. They are definitely in the process of working out a lot of kinks. This was day 2 or 3 of its opening. When we got there, they were out of: flour tortillas (corn only available), chips, coke and their fixins’ bar looked as if it had been blasted by a bomb. Their standard salsa was a soupy mess.

It took a good 10 minutes for our order to be called. All drinks were free though! Not sure if that was intentional or an apologetic offering.

The cashier was very nice, the food was good. Looking forward to going back after they get their feet on the ground.

  3. Has anyone consigned furniture at any of the Frederick consignment shops? We’re downsizing and need to get rid of a few pieces. I’d love to hear about your experience with this.

    • I want to jump for joy but only if it’s a TJMaxx/Homegoods store. Otherwise I’ll still be driving to Mt. Airy. I don’t think that storefront is big enough to be TJMaxx/Homegoods. Would have been a great use of the old Giant store on the golden mile, though.
