Open Thread Monday: April 2nd Edition

These open threads provide a chance for us to chat with our neighbors. Ask questions, share news, or whatever you want. As long as it’s central to Frederick County and civil, anything goes.

Have at it in the comments!

  1. Hi. We have some vendor space still available for Saturday April 7th at the RE-Flea, Building 13 Fairgrounds. 12 x 10 $180. That’s space for 4)6 foot tables or lots of floor space for furniture, shelving, bikes, etc. Combinations of items work best!

Bring your STUFF! Turn it into cash!

Your attic clean out, your great aunt’s collection of bells and whistles, that junque in the back of your storage unit that you know is vintage this and that but haven’t seen it for 10 years. Some Shinola. The worn and ugly and wrinkled is OK. Your handmade vintage button jewelry and other hand mades, combining old with new… What you think is trash is another’s treasure. Don’t toss it, SELL IT.

Load up your Bronco with your JUNQUE and SELL at the Easter RE-Flea!

Easter Egg Treasure Hunt for kiddies and big people too. Free Raffle tickets for prizes and one ticket matches up with an antique Limoges Porcelain cobalt and 24kt EGG! The others that match have vintage jewels and good old fashioned candy inside!

The RE-flea still has FREE ADMISSION

Set up is Friday for everything but table top items.

Call me today and go on website for more details. 301-332-5585 Thank you.

    • Possibly out of town people who have no idea who it is they’ve just dealt with? Someone needs to find them and clue them in asap if that’s the case.

  2. Having a baby shower in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone knew of a bakery here in Frederick that makes custom sugar cookies with an under the sea theme. I was thinking doing that as a party favor.

  3. You might try Ed’s Country Bakery ( which states on their website that they will do custom cookies. Haven’t tried their cookies, but we use them all the time for birthday cakes (both sheet cakes and round cakes) that are absolutely delicious and are decorated very well without over-sugared icing. Our friends also use them for office parties and such. They’ve been in business for 5 or 8 years, provide quality baked goods, and we have found them reliable. Ed is one of Frederick’s hidden treasures (like Mrs. Tom).
