The staff at Danielle’s Restaurant would like to thank all of you for being such a wonderful part of these past 6 years. All good things must come to an end and now it is our time.

No mention if the closing is effective immediately or not. Anyone have any inside news on this?

Thanks for the tip TL.

Update: Looks like they will be re-opening:

In light of recent events Danielles will be reopening its doors very soon- please stay tuned and thank you for your continued support!

  2. WOW! I never saw this one coming. I know the bar area was always busy when we would go, I do not know about the dining area though. Either way… 😦

  3. We have fond memories, spent there on Thursday nights with the jazz band. Danielle’s was the place where my granddaughter and her Pappy danced for the first time. She was two, and Pappy 52.

  5. Everedy Square is not a good location due to the parking issues and that is why Mike and Doc Tauraso sold and also closed the doors of Taurasos like Danielles. The potential would be great
if it was on Market Street. Everedy Square and Shab Row is a high-end commercial area that
caters to the Frederick wannabes. The landlord also can be a pain to deal with. Don’t forget that
Proof on Patrick closed as well so things are not so rosy in Frederick after all. Some Montgomery County restauranteur will scarf up Danielles former location as nobody with any
business sense would bother in these tough economic times.

    • Wow. I’m so sick of hearing “no one can afford to eat out” and then try to go to ANY restaurant in Frederick, especially on a Friday or Saturday evening. Booked solid with 2 – 3 hour waits. So please, cry me a river….somewhere else. Someone will take the space, with better food and service.

  6. Despite any criticism, it seems that people lose sight of the reality of things like this. The fact of the matter is that more hard working people are put out of jobs in a terrible economic time. Say what you want but we’re all losing sight of the big picture

  7. It seems to me that Market Street, the Main Street of Frederick, is doing well from the Carroll Creek development up to West 2nd Street. The establishments located in that prime location of Market Street have great exposure unlike the rest of Market Street. Everyone knows that Frederick would not be where they are today if Montgomery County was not the neighboring County of Frederick County and residents of Montgomery County moving to Frederick. Frederick has progressed but I don’t think the residents of Frederick have in anyway shape or form. Frederick is still a Cow Town by large. As far as restaurants waiting – times, go to any restaurant Sunday – Thursday and see if there is a waiting list. Two days a week business for Dining establishments will not make ends meet. More restaurants will go out of business compared to new restaurants opening in the next couple years. The restaurant market in Frederick is saturated with chain restaurants, Ma and Pa restaurants, but none add up to the clever restaurant Volt. Like what was mentioned previously in this forum, maybe someone as clever as Volt, from Montgomery County, will re-open where the former businesses that failed, known as Taurasos and Danielles.

  8. And yet Angel Cakes sells out of their cupcakes. Frederick Coffee Company doesn’t have any empty tables on a Sunday afternoon. The gravel lot at Shab Row is completely packed almost any day and evening. The paved lot behind Eveready Square is full every time I try to go to Talbots, which is always on a weekday. So SOMEBODY is going to that area of downtown!! The problem is parking.

  9. Parking is everything for any retail business but lets face it the small lot behind Everedy Square is not big enough to accomodate the retail outlets plus a 300+ capacity restaurant. After 9:00 pm its much easier to find a parking space at Everedy Square but Bert Anderson never liked Live Music or any Venue housed at Taurasos or Danielles. He lives upstairs or used to, so he would complain about the volume level of the patrons / entertainment. He would be better dividing up formerly Danielles and Taurasos for retail. The development of Everedy Square was a very nice concept on paper but a very bad location for a restaurant with insufficient parking availability. I think Mike Tauraso finally realized that Frederick restaurants is based on location-location-location, at that is why Doc Tauraso and Mike Tauraso closed the doors and sold because there were much better locations in Downtown Frederick.
