Fire, Baseball, and a Day at the Taney House

Some Frederick fun to keep you busy this weekend:

  • Get into Sunday’s Keys game free with a donation to Goodwill.
  • Children’s Day at the Taney House – All are invited explore the life of the middling class family during the 1900s century through guided tours and activities geared towards our younger visitors. Crafts and historic games will connect families to the lighter side of children’s lives in the 1800s. Tour and activities are ongoing throughout the day. Saturday, July 23, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • FIRE!! – July 22 – August 7 in the Side Gallery of the Delaplaine. On June 30, 2010, a major fire broke out at General Engineering, 59 South Carroll St. in Frederick. That’s just across the street from the Center! This exhibit of dramatic photographs which documented the event were taken at the scene by amateurs and professional photographers.

  1. That FIRE exhibit sounds neat. That was the most surreal day I’ve ever had in Frederick. I remember walking down Third Street toward Market and looking down Chapel Alley and just seeing this huge cloud of smoke blocking our entire view. It was crazy.
