The Frederick Festival of the Arts runs Saturday and Sunday this week. It’s “… a juried, two-day fine arts festival held the first weekend every June along Carroll Creek Linear Park in downtown Frederick. The event features approximately 115 artists from across the country, two stages of live entertainment, artist demonstrations, children’s activities, boat rentals, food, and much more.”
Also on Saturday is Downtown Frederick’s First Saturday celebration, also with an art theme:
Downtown Frederick is home to a growing number of talented artists and June’s First Saturday – I ART Downtown – celebrates their craft. Held the same weekend as the Frederick Festival of the Arts, June’s First Saturday – June 4th between 5-9pm in the streets of downtown – includes plein-air painters on the streets creating live art to be followed by an exclusive sale at PNC Bank from 8-9pm in the heart of the historic district. Art Cars and live music will be featured throughout the evening as well.
Everedy Square & Shab Row will feature a Community Art Car loaned to the Partnership by Second Chance Auto. Bring your family, your imagination and found objects from home to help design Frederick’s newest work of group art. The Community Art Car will remain on display for one month following the June First Saturday.
Taking a complete left turn from art themed events is the Mason-Dixon Paranormal Society’s investigation of the Brunswick Railroad Museum. You can participate in the investigation for 50 smackers.
The Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard Summer Wine and Music Festivals kick off this weekend with the reggae band Proverbs.
