From a Gazette article:
The Frederick Police Department announced today that major crimes in Frederick are occurring at the lowest rate since 2005.
According to Frederick Police Chief Kim Dine, part one crime — which is classified by the department as major crimes including homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft/larceny and stolen automobiles — was down 5.8 percent in 2010.
In 2010, there were two murders, 16 rapes, 87 stolen automobiles, 162 robberies, 262 burglaries, 274 incidences of aggravated assault and 1,363 thefts.
Overall crime is also at its lowest rate since 1991, despite the city adding more than 20,000 residents during that timeframe.
