The Frederick Weekender: Feb 25-27, 2011

Here a couple things to keep you busy this weekend:

  • The Sandman and the Sand Witch — the Equinox Dance Company presents their annual children’s performance at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Cultural Arts Center, 15 W. Patrick St, Frederick. Show is under an hour long and is appropriate for all ages. Tickets: $10 for adults; $5 for children under 12, available at Equinoxdance.org.
  • Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” — will be read at 7 p.m. Feb. 25 and 26 in Rosenstock Hall’s Hodson Auditorium at Hood College. Obie Award-winning play is a compilation of real stories from hilarious and heartbreaking interviews Ensler conducted with more than 200 women. Ninety percent of proceeds will benefit Heartly House; 10 percent will benefit women and girls of Haiti . Free for Hood students; $5 general admission. Purchase tickets at door beginning at 5 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. 401 Rosemont Ave., Frederick. 301-696-3577.
