The goal of Catoctin Creek Park is to provide environmental education facilities, which will appeal to a broad range of park users in Frederick County. Development included the 6,100 square foot Nature Center with a vegetated roof, a receiving pavilion, a new entrance drive, parking, a well and septic system, bioretention pond, geothermal well field, landscaping, playground, picnic pavilion, and a handicapped-accessible loop trail.

  1. This park was originally scheduled to open in Sept. 2010. My husband and I drove around that area a couple of times looking in vain for the entrance. We thought maybe we were just too hard headed to find it. Glad to know it wasn’t actually open. 😉 I’m excited to see it because the area around there is really cool.
