It’s really hard to believe it’s almost September already!  Here are a few events in this very busy month but a more complete list can be found at the calendar of events part of the Frederick Tourism website.  As always, feel free to add in the comments any events that I missed.

September 4th is First Saturday with the theme Around the World in 15 Blocks:

Enjoy live music, guest artists and exhibit openings every First Saturday from 5 – 9pm!

September 9th is the final Alive @ Five happy hour of the year.

Don’t forget that In The Street has changed from October to September.  That whole weekend of September 10th and 11th is a big one for Celebrate Frederick.  Friday the 10th is Light the Creek.  Saturday the 11th is In The Street (check out the entertainment schedule here) during the day and Up The Creek in the evening.

  1. I thought this one was interesting:

Michael Franzese, “one of the biggest money earners the Mob had seen since Al Capone” according to Vanity Fair and Fortune Magazines, will be making a special appearance in Frederick and hold a youth and young adult (parents as well) dialogue on Saturday, September 11, at the Weinberg Center (20 West Patrick Street) from 2:00p until 3:30p.

    • That is far more reasonable than many people want to admit. Just came back from 3 weeks in Montreal, where 20 MINUTES in a garage will cost you $4.00. And it goes way up after that. Ever been to Chicago?? Try $15 for a couple of hours, or less. I won’t kick over $5 for the day.

      • Chicagans suffer from insane parking rate, carried along from its glorious (past) prime time. However, compare to Frederick, food is cheaper, house is much cheaper. They have a real ‘magnificent’ mile, and a free Zoo. But, what’s the point of comparing Frederick to Chicago?
