Well, proms and graduations and all the busy-ness that goes with all of that are finally over.  Happy Memorial Day weekend to you all.  Now that June is right around the corner, here are a few events that I’ve found for you to do in June.  As always, feel free to leave a comment if you know of anything going on that I’ve failed to mention.  For a more complete list, check out the calendar of events at the Frederick Tourism website.

There are lots of home games for the Frederick Keys in June.

  1. June 26 – The Army’s Twilight Tattoo returns to Frederick, bringing patriotic military pageantry to Baker Park, starting at 6 p.m.

The Tattoo is a journey through the history and service of the U.S. Army, from The Revolutionary War through today.

Elements of the U.S. Army Band and the Old Guard will take to the field with period military costume, a pipe and drum corps, precision marching and great music.

The Tattoo seldom performs outside military installations, but Frederick is one of the very few instances they do.

The event is being sponsored by Fort Detrick, the City of Frederick and the Fort Detrick Alliance.

Admission is free and all are invited. Seating is on the lawn, so bring chairs or blankets.
