Reach Out Rescue is a small group of rescuers focused on placing shelter dogs who are last to be adopted or saved: black dogs, senior dogs and hounds.

This NEW event includes a walk of fame throughout Downtown Frederick featuring local & national celebrities, celebrity impersonators and paparazzi riding around Downtown Frederick. • Cakes for a Cause presents the 3rd Annual Cupcake Run on Sunday, April 15, 2012 -  This event helps support youth aging out of the foster care system. The theme is Election Year. Participants are invited to wear cupcake costumes and each receives a cupcake after the race. Register at Active.com by April 11 to participate.
• MS Walk Frederick –  Join the National MS Society, Maryland Chapter on Saturday, April 14th at the Frederick Keys Stadium for the annual 5K walk. To register as a walker or volunteer for Walk MS Frederick 2012, please call Melissa Ward at 443-641-1227 or visit the website www.walkmsmaryland.org.

“People just pull up, we unload and they can scan their smartphone on the QR code and we email them a receipt,” Sauter said. “They don’t even have to get out of their car.”

The Goodwill store on East Church Street is now The Last Rack, where shoppers can find clothing at discount prices. There is also a store on Buckeystown Pike.

Way Station, Inc. is a nationally recognized psychiatric rehabilitation center providing community services through advocacy, research, and education. We are a non-profit organization promoting health and community integration for persons with serious mental illness.

Last year Way Station, Inc. sponsored a 5k Run & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on Thanksgiving Day to raise money to assist individuals who are living with mental illness achieve their personal and professional goals. We had over 2000 runners/walkers.

The 2011 5k Run & 1k Fun Run/Walk will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24th , 2011.
