Frederick Bathtub Races Returns

Celebrate Frederick and FACKA (Frederick Adult Co-Ed Kickball Association) are proud to bring back a greatly anticipated Frederick tradition to the 4th of July! The KEY 103 Great Frederick Bathtub Races returns to the historic Culler Lake on Monday, July 4, 2011 at this year’s Frederick’s 4th- An Independence Day Celebration located in Baker Park! The Bathtub races are sure to provide entertainment and fun for all ages. Register today to participate in the most anticipated competition of Frederick’s 4th. Hurry, only a limited number of teams will be competing in this race and spaces are filling up fast!

The event will feature teams racing from north to south on Culler Lake in 1 vs. 1 match ups. The races are scheduled to run from 12:30 to 5:00, one race every 20 minutes. Winning teams advance to the next round of races. DJ Bill Izer will announce the prize winners for Great Frederick Bathtub Race Champions, Runners-Up, Best in Show and Golden Plunger at the end of the event. Don’t be the Golden Plunger winner; it’s the first to sink!

And just in case you were wondering “Your ‘race craft’ may be constructed of any material but it MUST BE a bathtub.
