Under Water
2011 March 11
So I’ve been trying to get in a trail run every Saturday to get ready for the Mud Dog Run, but my usual spot (pictured above) is a tad under water right now. Any suggestions for a good trail running spot in Frederick?

Gambrill? Probably hillier, but still a trail. You could also do the C&O or you can go down 355 past Urbana to Little Bennett. They have some nice trails (http://www.montgomeryparks.org/PPSD/ParkTrails/trails_MAPS/little_bennett.shtm)
C&O may well be under water. The bridge over the Potomac (the footbridge at Harpers Ferry that leads to the C&O) is closed because of the high water. Pics are on the ATC’s Facebook page.
Gambrill or ATC would probably be a good bet once they dry out a bit. Where do you normally run? I should start doing some trail running too…I signed up for the Rebel Race in June.
I usually run at Dearbought Park, there are off road trails in addition to the paved ones.
I love Gambrill and the C&O. I did venture forward yesterday and it was a little wet
Monocacy Nation Battlefield Park has 3 nice trails in the 1.6 to 4 mile range (depending upon how you put the trails at Worthington Park together). Run down along the river and also up hill in some spots http://is.gd/JhlKyP
