Yes, the Lobster Corn Dogs totally rocked! Yummers.

We didn't take a stroller from remembering from previous years. We used a baby carrier and think it definitely worked the best for us. It was crowded, but fun! :)

Yes, it will be on September 11th next year, before the fair and Oktoberfest and all the general busy-ness of early October. My only concern is that it may still be pretty hot then (it was pretty warm on Saturday!), and being crammed in a hot, sweaty crowd is not that appealing to me. I agree with spreading out the events, but I'm thinking 9/11 may be a tad bit too early.

Tony and I tried to find a parking space in the mid afternoon, but couldn't find any. We had friends that were coming into town, so we headed home and back to Frederick around 5pm just as the streets were being cleaned up. I bet it was a zoo! Ann (and Pat, owners of Patrick's) said the 'in the streets' may be in mid September next year to help offset the crowds. Sounds like a good plan!

We went out several times throughout the day. Thanked the lord every time that we lived downtown and didn't have to deal with traffic/parking. The first time we walked around was in the morning and it was really nice (although warm in the sun), later in the afternoon it did keep getting more crowded but it was still enjoyable. Didn't notice more "drunk" people and "smokers" than usual... :) It was so fun to see downtown so busy!

But I have to be honest, it was very pleasant to walk around yesterday (Sunday) and not have to elbow our way through the crowds.

We also checked out the Used Book sale at the Lutheran church on Church street and got three books for a $1.50. :)

Did anyone try the Lobster Corn dogs at Volt?! We saw them and when we went back with cash they were sold out.

The shops are definitely not stroller friendly. I'm downtown all the time with my tot and I think I've mastered most of the stores. I hold the door open with my behind and lift the stroller (with 36lb. child in it) into the store. It's quite comical. Usually someone in the store will see me and lend a hand. Depending on the store, it can be a tight fit once I'm in there. I try to stay away from super small shops with breakables.

I attended later in the evening, just as they were cleaning the streets, and was it just me or were there alot more "drunk" people on the streets. Maybe cause of Octoberfest at the fairgrounds coinciding with In the streets. The number of smokers hanging out in front of the bars seemed to be large as well. Still enjoyed walking around with the kids, who had a blast with the First Saturday festivities.

It was crazy crowded! We went later in the day, so we could stay late for the "Spooky Saturday" activities but I agree that getting around with a stroller was a huge hassle!

What do you all do with a stroller if you want to visit the shops on Market? Many of them don't seem stroller friendly, even on a non-event weekend.

We have a stroller bound tot too. We went early and left early - out of there by about noon. It wasn't too bad but was getting crowded when we left. This was our first time there - we just moved here in May. Thought it was lots of fun!
