I’ll do a reminder for In The Street in the October Events post, but since In The Street is so early in the month of October, (October 2nd and 3rd)  I thought I’d go ahead and write about it now so you can make your plans.

This year the festival starts on Friday night, 6-9PM on  October 2nd with Light the Creek at the Carroll Creek Linear Park.

Join us Friday evening for the 3rd Annual Light the Creek Concert and Fundraiser.  Carroll Creek will be light by luminaries for the night as we work to raise funds for fellow Frederick non-profit organizations.

Admission is free with a $3.00 cover charge to the beer garden.

Then on Saturday, October 3rd,  the In The Street Festival runs from 11AM-5PM with lots of entertainment, a kids block,  a history block, an art block, a Creekside Market and much more.

Then, Saturday wraps up with the On The Deck Party on the Carroll Creek parking deck from 5:30-9PM.  This year, Jah Works (turn your speakers down!!) will be playing on the deck.

This band of brothers based out of Baltimore write, record and perform their original blend of reggae. Jah Works is very dedicated to the authentic Jamaican roots but also merge hip hop and pop into their music creating a sound of their own. The band is well known on the East Coast but has performed internationally in Jamaica, Canada, Holland, the South Pacific, and even the Middle East! More exciting than performing internationally is the fact that the band has recently performed at the inauguration of President Barack Obama! Jah Works is sure to make you dance and is the perfect ending to the In the Street Festival.
