Drive by shooting at the Delaplaine.

2009 August 29

The Delaplaine has a really cool exhibit called Drive By Shootings and Other Related Events:

The Frederick Area Photographer’s Roundtable will be exhibiting works of spontaneous photography created using a variety of quick or automatic cameras such as cell-phones, Polaroids, point-and-shoots, and video clips.

The exhibit runs until September 27. Sounds likes a must see for a hack like me.

Don’t forget that you can share your photos on FMO, all you have to do is upload them to Flickr and tag them frednet (make sure you use a lower case “f”). Once you do that they will show up in the site’s sidebar and in the Twitter feed.

Speaking of Frederick photos, did anyone else see those low clouds over the mountains yesterday?

I LOVE that exhibit & think everyone should go see it! I snapped a polaroid at the opening reception & left it on the interactive fridge door:

I saw those clouds as well. Unlike Gut I didn’t have my bag in my car.

That was a GREAT exhibit! My two favs were both by local photographer Harriet Wise. If you go to see it, don’t miss seeing the wonderful quilt exhibit in the main exhibit rooms on the Main Floor. The craftsmanship of these pieces is incredible…and the creativity that the works exhibit is breathtaking. Take a magnifying glass if you think of it…the stitchwork is amazing!

Speaking of exhibits…has anyone been to the main library in Frederick to see the two dioramas of John Brown’s raid on Harper’s Ferry? It’s the third exhibit done for the library by History In2 Art — incredible detail given to a representation of an historic event. The FNP did a story on it last week: http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/news/emailDisplay.htm?StoryID=94606
