Sidewalk sale
Someone mentioned an upcoming sidewalk sale in the comments recently. Here is a bit more information on the sale from the FNP business section:
Two days knocking on doors have resulted in 50 store owners signing on to plans for a huge sidewalk sale in downtown Frederick .The Sept. 12 event, billed as the largest sidewalk sale in Maryland, is an attempt to counter sluggish sales and keep cash registers in the black, organizers said.
“Instead of resting on our laurels and waiting for something to happen, we should make things happen,” said Ron Namendorf, owner of Paolo Vista Menswear at 11 S. Market St.
Namendorf is selling the idea to each store, making the pitch that a concerted effort can yield returns for each retailer.
“I tell them everybody is fighting for the same dollars out there,” he said. “What can we do to help ourselves and the whole community?”
The FNP will place an ad in the paper on Friday, September 11, identifying participants and their locations.
The event is for every business in downtown, including restaurants, dry cleaners, antique stores and merchants at Everedy Square Shab Row.
A full-page ad will be published in The Frederick News-Post one day before the sale that lists participating stores and their addresses. Gold and blue balloons will identify participating stores and each retailer will determine how much savings to offer customers.

Anyone have info on the stores participating in this tomorrow?
I don’t get the hard copy of the FNP and they were supposed to have a large ad in yesterday’s paper. Did anyone else see the ad about who is participating in the sidewalk sale?
