There's a lot of Steeler fans everywhere - a big part of that is the fact that Pittsburgh has been shedding jobs for years, and Maryland is a place that is close that has been somewhere we can move for jobs. Also, you have a lot of people who jumped on in the 70s and have remained fans. Plus, Hagerstown apparantly aired only Steeler games for years, which has had an affect on the locals there. I know more Skins fans here (actually, I know more here than I knew when I lived in Montgomery County, strangely enough), but the Steelers are very important here. I’m a Steelers fan (here we go Steelers!).

Long ago, I had to make peace with the fact the Colts are gone (sure wish we could have at least kept the name). But I'm with you on being surprised at the number of Steelers fans around here!! They're still my NFC team, while I've been to some Ravens games so they're now my AFC favorite. Don't like the Steelers or Cowboys! I can understand why people are upset at the score last night, but the Ravens are arguably the 2nd best team in the NFL.
