The Frederick Wind Ensemble wants you!
Anne was great enough to pass along some info on a new music group starting up in the Frederick area:
The City of Frederick Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the formation of the Frederick Wind Ensemble. The history of wind bands and ensembles is deeply rooted in community involvement, so this is a wonderful way for people to come together and honor that tradition. We will be accepting members from age 16 up to 99+. Students who are enrolled in public or private high schools are welcome to join us but, in the spirit of supporting music education in our schools, they must also be members of their schools’ ensembles. Our goal is to come together to make quality music and to perform it in venues throughout the City of Frederick.
Registration for the Frederick Wind Ensemble opened on 1 July via the Department of Parks and Recreation. Prospective members are also strongly encouraged to visit and join our new website, frederickwinds.webs.com. I am looking forward to meeting and making music with you!
You can call Parks and Rec at 301-600-1492 if you are interested in registering for the Frederick Wind Ensemble, also here is a PDF of their latest activities brochure. Good luck Anne, I hope to see your group perform in the near future.
