August 2009 Events in Frederick County
I don’t know where my head is these days. I really thought we had another week of July left! So here’s a quick post with a few things to do in August. As always, feel free to add anything else you hear about in the comments. The Frederick Tourism calendar of events has a more complete list.
This Saturday, August 1st is First Saturday. This month’s theme is Dog Days of Summer.
Downtown Frederick goes to the dogs during the August First Saturday – Dog Days of Summer on Saturday, August 1st from 5 – 9pm. Dress your pooch to the nines for the Dog Costume Contest! Categories include Hot Dogs (small breeds), Cool Dogs (large breeds) and Dog/Owner Look-a-Like! Register your dog from 5 – 7pm in front of Two Paws Up, 15 S. Carroll Street and recieve a Doggie Bag filled with goodies from downtown merchants and a free photo at the My Dog’s Diggin’ Downtown Photo Booth. Click here for registration form. Two-legged and four-legged visitors can cool off at the Wet & Woof Chill Zone for dogs and the Flying Dog Beer Garden for those 21+ years of age. Winner of the costume contest will be announced at the Yappy Hour begining at 8pm at the Carroll Creek Amphitheatre. Live music, guest artists, exhibit openings complete the evening!

Just $55 for the crabs? Just? Yikes.
