Friday Free-For-All: Memorial Day Weekend
I just wrote this whole post and WordPress has managed to lose it. If this doesn’t work this time, I’m probably going to lose my mind! Anyways, the gist of it was that I was asking what everyone has planned for this first long weekend of the summer? Here are a couple ideas for the weekend around town.
The Frederick Keys are in town this weekend with fireworks tonight and tomorrow.
The Caribbean Wine Festival is this weekend at Linganore Winecellars.
And the Monocacy National Battlefield is having a memorial flag display all weekend called The Last Full Measure of Devotion.
Monocacy National Battlefield will host a memorial flag display in honor of those soldiers who fell during the Battle of Monocacy. Special programs and activities will focus on the history of Memorial Day. On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2009, visitors are encouraged to participate in a National Moment of Remembrance. At 3:00 p.m. park staff and visitors will pause for one minute paying silent tribute to the men and women who died in service to our nation.
As for us, we are going to a party on Saturday, camping out Saturday night and having friends over for a cookout on Sunday. I’m not sure yet what we are doing on Monday but I’m sure it will involve sleeping in! What are you doing?
Moving (boo) into our little downtown rowhouse (yay). Packing/moving is not my favorite way to spend a holiday weekend but there will definitely be coolers of beer and some very helpful friends to ease the process.
We’ll probably head to DC tomorrow, Leesburg for some sales shopping on Sunday, and then ultra-chilling on Monday.
I think we might go to the ice cream social in Middletown on Saturday and that’s about it!
