The latest Frederick Magazine (January, 2009) mentions in “The Dish” section that there is a new Japanese restaurant in Walkersville called Fuji Japanese Steakhouse. It’s in the former Burger King on Walkers Village Way. It sounds like a teppanyaki style restaurant with sushi on the menu as well. Has anyone tried it yet?

Yes, some friends of ours who live in Walkersville have been there twice. They love it–say it’s clean, food’s good and the service is great.
How are the prices compared to the Japanese restaurant on Rte 85? Do they have a lunch buffet?
Which Japanese restaurant is on Rt. 85?
I’m guessing she means Matsutake in Westview.
The Gazette has an article about Fuji in their paper today:

Will the Gazette ever have a “food writer” who actually KNOWS anything about food???
Dubya,
Matsutake Sushi . 5225 Buckeystown Pike
Dubya,
Matsutake Sushi . 5225 Buckeystown Pike. They have a pretty good lunch buffet of sushi for about $11. Good selection along with miso soup, some fried dumplings, and vegetable tempura.
@BabyDoe, I posted the “article” because it had a price list for Monica who was wondering about prices. What’s interesting to me is no mention of the teppanyaki grill, which is usually of interest to people looking for Japanese restaurants.
LizFrog:
It was good of you to post the “article”…it did give some useful information about the restaurant. It just made me wonder IF the Gazette will EVER have a restaurant writer who actually KNOWS anything about food. My comment certainly wasn’t an indictment of your including the article here…where we all rely on your sagacity, time, and effort to keep us all informed!
Which means it’s time to say THANK YOU for all your work in 2008…I look forward very much to what you will bring us in 2009!
BabyDoe, thanks for your very kind words.
And by the way, I didn’t take any offense at your comment at all. In fact, in this case I agree with you. That’s why I didn’t call the article a review.
Happy New Year!
