Frederick Rescue Mission Needs Some Help

Fredrick Rescue Mission does an Annual Turkey Drive to help give needy families a Thanksgiving dinner. There is much demand this year and they will have to turn some families away. Here is some more details about the drive and how you can help …

Annual Turkey Drive distribution will be held this Saturday, November 22 from 2-4 pm. So far, over 200 needy families and individuals have signed up to receive a Thanksgiving food box, but we’ve had to turn many people away for lack of supplies. If you have a few extra dollars to put towards these needs, we would be so grateful, as would that family who will be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal! For more information, contact Guy Mutchler at gmutchler@therescuemission.org or 301-695-6633 ext 211.

Here’s what we put in each box:

  • Turkey
  • Boxed stuffing
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • 3 cans corn
  • 3 cans green beans
  • 2 cans cranberry sauce
  • 2 cans poultry gravy

Thanks for the tip Kim and Don.

I contacted him & he said the average cost of a box is $30 and you can mail a check & it will get there in time for him to utilize it for Thanksgiving or just let him know when you’re coming by to drop it off so he can make sure someone will be there

Our family would like to provide Christmas trees for some needy families in Frederick. We would like to go with them to pick out a tree. Do you have information about Christian families who cannot afford a tree?

    Thanks,
