Toast of The Town
I got an email this morning from reader Gabe about an upcoming event being put on by Wags For Hope. The event is called Toast of the Town,
All proceeds will benefit our new “Wagging P.A.L.S.” [Pets Adopt Loving Seniors] program. Wags for Hope is teaming up with the Frederick County Animal Shelter to place shelter animals with seniors living alone so both can enjoy their new found companionship. We will subsidize part of the care and feeding of the animal if necessary.
The event is on Friday, November 7th from 7PM-11PM at the Quality Inn at Route 40 and Baughman’s Lane.
Come out for a night of food, fun and dancing with a herd of animal lovers! Sample enticing fare provided by some of Frederick’s finest restaurants. Enjoy complimentary soft drinks and a cash bar while starting your Christmas shopping. Our silent auction boasts many unique gift ideas at an exceptional value.
Restaurants providing food for this event include Carraba’s, Outback, The Greene Turtle, The Clay Oven and many more. For ticket info click here and then click on the Events button at the top of the page. As Gabe says in his email, “This will be a great event for all animal lovers and we know how dog friendly Frederick is.”

WAGS is a great organization. My father, a senior himself, participates with his dog Sammy. Together, they visit clients at nursing homes. It’s great for both the patients who adore the well-behaved dogs – and for the owners who are able to share the joy of their pets.
