Mealey's Adding a Tavern
It appears I was right when I said Mealey’s in New Market was in for some big changes. I haven’t been to Mealey’s in a couple years and I’ve also read a few not-so-kind comments about the changes the new owner has made. This is a good change, in my opinion. Mealey’s has added a tavern, called Mealey’s Tavern.
According to FNP blogger Jessica, the tavern is having an invitation only open house tomorrow (Thursday) from 4-5 and then will open to the public with discounts on food and drinks.

My wife and I checked out Mealey’s Tavern on Friday and it was very good. Cozy place with a few tables and about 8-10 bar stools. Good bar menu and the bartender was very polite and knowledgeable. Several beers on tap. It took a little while for the food, but was worth it. We had the crab cake sliders and chees fries covered with cheese, crab and a crumbled meat(can’t remember what it said on the menu).
Not sure that I would go out there any more. I know too many people who have had bad experiences since last fall when the place was sold. I wish him well although I have heard that the place is up for sale again.
