Test Your Psychic Abilities
I read this on the WTOP web site, although it says it’s source is the Frederick News-Post (but I didn’t find it there):
Psychic abilities to be probed in Frederick
Windsong, owner of The Healing Way on West Patrick Street, a center for spiritual healing and psychic readings, said anyone is capable of a sixth sense.
“You can develop it and practice it like any other skill.”
The Sunday event is the first offsite class with a big group in her “Developing Your Intuition” series, Windsong said.
Built around 1758 by German immigrant Joseph Bruner, Schifferstadt houses centuries of history and is the site of several ghost stories. Christina Murphy, a guide for the Spirit Tours at Schifferstadt, said the tours are scheduled every Friday night.
Based on folklore and Windsong’s experiences, she believes it is the perfect place for practicing psychic abilities.
“I know there’s something there,” she said. “There’s a consciousness there, whether you consider it a spirit or a ghost.”
Before heading into the building, Windsong will remind participants what to look for and what to expect.
“Each person is going to get their opportunity to see what they pick up and feel on their own,” she said. “Then we’ll gather to discuss that.”
At the end of the evening, participants will be taken on Schifferstadt’s Spirit Tour.
Murphy is also head gardener and a board member of the Frederick County Landmarks Foundation, the nonprofit organization that owns the house. She said that while the FCLF loves to have visitors at Schifferstadt, the foundation neither promotes nor denigrates the ghost stories.
“What people believe is what they believe,” she said.
If she gets a good response, Windsong plans to offer the class at Schifferstadt again.
“They’re just fun,” she said of such trips. “It’s going to be a nice opportunity for people to check things out.”
