Taste of Frederick Canceled
2008 May 31
While doing research for the June Events post, I found out that the Taste of Frederick that was scheduled for Sunday, June 8th at the Keys Stadium has been canceled. I wish there was some sort of explanation, but so far I haven’t heard a thing. It’s too bad because if I recall, it was a pretty successful event last year and this year, the March of Dimes was supposed to be the beneficiary of the proceeds from ticket sales.

Liz, thank you again for letting us know so we could update our site as well. Three cheers for Liz! Hip Hip Hooray!
This isn’t welcome news. One has to wonder if this cancellation was due to the sputtering economy, or to something else. Maybe too many of the participating restaurants pulled out, and are instead focusing on keeping their own businesses going.
Many thanks to Lizfrog for the news!
I hear there were not enougn restaurants participating. I know the price of fuel is causing increasing food costs for restaurants, but it’s sad that so many restaurants dropped out or didn’t want to participate in this event. It could’ve raised a lot of money for a good cause and given the restaurants a lot of good exposure. I went last year and had a great time, and it was packed with people, but I never had to stand in line for more than a few minutes at each reatuarant’s station. I hope they try it again next year.
Haha Darren! No problem. The more ways we can get the word out the better!
