I received an anonymous tip from an FMO reader about Luke’s Pizza Company …
I just discovered that Luke’s Pizza Company on Crestwood Blvd. is now closed for two to four weeks for “emergency renovations.” I wonder if this means the Health Department nailed it, or if the store has changed hands once again?
No word on the Luke’s next to Jug Bridge. I haven’t eaten at Luke’s in awhile, but I used to frequent the place quite often. Hopefully they bounce back, whatever the cause of the closure.

That’s really strange. I wonder what’s going on with them.

What a surprise about Luke’s–sorry to hear it, always found (most) of their offerings a cut above those offered by similar establishments, especially their specialty pizzas.
I work not far from their Crestwood Blvd. location. I’ll keep an eye out for any notices that may be posted…and will share what I expect I’ll be hearing through the (usually reliable) grapevine on what’s really going on.

Yes - my daughter asked me today where we were going to eat now! We frequented Luke’s 2-3 times a month. Hope they re-open.

If BOTH Luke’s locations are closed, I guess we can forget the Health Department gambit. I only hope the restaurant changed hands again (it’s been through a few owners in its short history) and will reopen better than before.
Nothing to do now but sit and wait, I guess.
Their pizza and most of their other dishes were quite good.

I’ve always enjoyed their pizza (fried eggplant and sausage) and especially the deep fried artichoke hearts.

According to a reliable source, Luke’s is gone for good. It looks like opening the Spring Ridge location proved to be a fatal mistake.
Oh well, there’s always Toppings or Vocelli’s.

Sorry to hear this news. As will be a number of my co-workers, who appreciated a place like Luke’s being nearby. Luke’s offerings were present at many of our luncheons, and its pizza, sandwiches, etc. were something to look forward to on many evenings when we needed to work late.
I guess it’s always been tough to survive in the restaurant business, especially for the “little guy,” and it’s not getting any easier.

I ordered from Luke’s a few times for offices in the Frederick area. I spent a few hundred dollars each time I ordered and now I noticed a bogus charge from them on my credit card for about $150. I wonder if others have experienced the same. It was charged right before they closed so when I tried to call them I got no answer.

Give Angel’s Pizza just outside of Libertytown a try…family owned, unique pizzas, tasty entrees nice place, run by nice people. You can get a coupon for 1/2 priced entree at SuddenValues.com too. We used it there and loved the food.

Thanks Charlie. I’ve never heard of Angel’s.

Anyone find out what happened to Lukes? They don’t say anything on the web site. I have family coming in and they always have to have the fried artichoke hearts when they come in…..guess they may have to do without…

Sad to say, it doesn’t look good since they closed both locations.
By the way, @Jenna, I hope your problems were resolved with your credit card. I really hope that Luke’s fixed that charge.

The News-Pest weighs in with this breaking news bulletin, right under its update that Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Oops - i am so sorry for the double post. I should have re-read the thread but I rushed right here to share. Again I apologize.

No problem SonDan.

Cygnus, your comment about the Generalissimo re the FNP’s “breaking news” on Luke’s brought a smile to my face on an otherwise dreary work day!

Thanks, FF! And SonDan, de nada; I must have screwed up the HTML in my post somehow.
*quietly asks again for a preview button on this thing*

Cygnus, we can only work with what wordpress has to offer. I’m sure if we could provide a preview button, we would.
It’s quite remarkable how long it took for the FNP to realize something we’ve all known here for 7 weeks or so.

Yeah, apparently WordPress : preview buttons :: Blogger : trackbacks.
(That’s your technogeek syllogism for the day. Apparently there are scripts to make a preview button, but it’s not a feature of WordPress. I’ll stop asking now.)
