A map for Frederick families
Frederick Maryland Online reader, Josh wanted to share a cool online map he created:
I just created a Google MyMap with things to do around Frederick for families with young kids. I’ve got two little girls, and I sometimes read tidbits on your blog or in the FNP about things to do for young kids. I created this map so I wouldn’t forget these tidbits! I’d love it if other people could add to the map things they do around Frederick to keep their kids busy and entertained.
CheckĀ out the mapĀ here. Thanks for sharing Josh!

Very cool map, Josh. I am trying to think of a way to use that on our website! Now I just need every parent in every county in Maryland to do the same!! HAHA

Thanks, DGurrie and Guy, for posting my map! DGurrie, that map (or any “Google My Map” whether you created it or not) can actually be embedded onto your website. Just click on “Link to this page” just above the map on the right, and then copy the “Paste HTML to embed in website” string of funny characters. If you’re able to edit (even somewhat) your website, then you can paste that string of characters onto your website. And presto, the map’ll appear.

Anybody looking for a fun (and different!) birthday party idea for young kids? Crumland Farms is a real working farm off of Rt. 15-N near Willow Rd just past Frederick city limits, and they have a very nice “agritainment” venture going. In the spring, they host school field trips to their “Pizza Farm” (the only farm in the world that grows…pizza! Check it out at http://www.crumland.com). They’ve recently begun offering the area as a party venue as well, and it’s perfect for kids ages 4-7. It’s a one-stop shop for kiddie party fun…all you bring is the cake. Enjoy!
