Alive @ Five 2008
The Downtown Frederick Partnership has finally announced the 2008 schedule for Alive @ Five, a happy hour series held at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater.
Alive @ Five 2008 kicks off on May 22 and is held the second and fourth Thursday of each month from through September 25 at the Carroll Creek Park Amphitheatre between Market and Carroll Streets. Each event occurs from 5 – 8PM. Must be 21+ to enter. ID required. $5 cover.
I’ve seen Mary Ann Redmond several times when she’s played the Summer Concert Series in the Baker Park band shell and she is amazing. I’m not familiar with any of the other acts so any input on them would be appreciated.
Last year we tried to get a Frederick Maryland Online/ Alive @ Five get-together going with way too little notice. Personally I think a get-together at one of these happy hours is a great idea. Any thoughts?

Now that we have moved from Middletown to downtown, the wife and I are in, as long as I too can get out early. (Baltimore commute)

Sounds like fun to me! Question on behalf of those with kids or those who can only stay for a few minutes – can you hang out on the other side of the creek (near the ice cream/burger/sushi/cafe area) and listen for free?
If you have children with you or you can only stay for a little while, can you sit on the other side of the creek (near the ice cream/burger/sushi/cafe) and still hear the music?
Sounds like it will be a lot of fun…. wish I could be there to put some faces to the icons – but unfortunately I have somewhere I need to be that evening. Rats!
I would love to…but have another place to be at 630. Maybe I can do both.
