Or when Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis (while running for President against George Bush Sr.) rode in the tank to show how tough he was. In other words, a ridiculous publicity stunt! Nothing against Wright Manufacturing or their standing mower, but seriously, who thought this visit was a priority for the leader of our country? I guess when you're a lame duck, it doesn't matter what you do. How much taxpayer money was spent on this little field trip, and how much did it hurt our local economy to have traffic snarled up for an entire afternoon? Couldn't he have taken a helicopter?
