October is breast cancer awareness month and this coming Saturday, October 13th, downtown Frederick is holding a Pink Ribbon Project event.

The Pink Ribbon Project event will be held on Saturday, October 13th from 8am to 9pm in Downtown Frederick.   This event includes activities to honor those in the fight against breast cancer, increase awareness, and raise funds for the FMH Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund. Come to Downtown Frederick and show your support for the cause!

  • Pink Ribbon Continental Breakfast 8am – 11am at the Delaplaine Visual Arts and Education Center, 40 S. Carroll.  Morning will include a continental breakfast to promote breast cancer awareness and celebrate and honor those who have been affected featuring a slideshow presentation about Mary Sayer a local survivor and activist. $5 donation per person.
  • Educational Booths 11am – 4:30pm at the Square Corner (Market & Patrick Streets), Frederick Memorial Hospital, the Frederick County Health Department, Frederick County Commission for Women, and Experience Massage – specializing in massage techniques for cancer patients and survivors.
  • Support the cause by shopping and eating Throughout the day at participating downtown restaurants and shops.  Shops will donate a percentage of their day’s profit or the profit from pink products to the Frederick Memorial Hospital Hurwitz Breast Caner Fund.  Restaurants will offer Pink Drink specials with a percentage of profits going to the fund.
