Maryland Scenic Byways Guide
The Maryland State Highway Administration has released a new Maryland Scenic Byways guide and map.
Maryland has designated 19 byways that encompass 2,487 miles of beautiful roads, which offer a taste of Maryland’s scenic beauty, history and culture. Take the roads less traveled including four entirely new byways featuring nationally significant themes: the Star-Spangled Banner, Antietam Campaign, Booth’s Escape and the Mason and Dixon byways.
Many of the routes cut through the “cozy town of Frederick” as the Washington Post calls it. This may be good for some day trips around good old Maryland. You can download the guide here (.pdf).
Almost unrelated to the scenic guide is this little mention of Frederick I found on Radar Magazine’s site. It appears that number 90 on the list of 100 worst places to kick the bucket is “Inside a Winnebago, Wal-Mart parking lot, Frederick, Maryland.” That does sound bad.

That is hilarious!! That does sound pretty awful!
I’m surprised that Frederick would be in the top 100. I mean, the parking lot of the Hagerstown Walmart or any Walmart in West VA would be way worse.
