Kicking for Charity

July 13, 2007
by Guy

The Frederick Adult Co-Ed Kickball Association will be hosting a most awesome charity kickball game (@Baker Park) and after party (@ Carroll Creek) on Saturday, July 21st. Here is more about the charity from league president Jason Mecler:

This year, we have scheduled our 2nd annual all star game against Montgomery County for July 21, 2007 which we have field reservations from 12-2 in Baker Park for that day. We are also naming it “The JoAnn Garrett All Star Classic” after my good friend’s mom, who recently lost her battle with cancer. We asked her son, Allen, and the remaining family to choose the charity in which we will raise money for as well. Proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. We have also decided to have a silent auction for the FMH Cancer Patient Assistance Fund which helps those locally who need help with their cancer treatment. More precise information regarding this fund can be received from Susan Hayes at 240-367-7482.

Here are more details about the game and the party to follow. Please attend, you will have a great time and support some great charities.

I forgot to mention that if you go to The JoAnn Garrett All Star Classic and you see me, please introduce yourself. It would be great to meet you all in person!

I wish I had re-read this tonight before we went downtown. We saw all the people along the creek and noticed a band setting up, but didn’t put two and two together with the kickball game in the park.

I hope you had a good turn out and raised lots of money!

Great blog. I really liked it. I have also created a lens in same niche. This is my first time, hope u guys like it. Here’s a brief intro: Charity Fund Raising Can Show Philanthropy Charity fundraising can show philanthropy by having the donor involved in the decision making process of where the charity funds will be spent. In modern times, more charity organizations are trying to think more outside the box in garnering interest to contribute money. Anyone can do a bake sale, a car wash, or a church rummage sale. But how about something unique, something that has never been tried before? For more detail visit here: http://www.squidoo.com/charity-and-philanthropy/
