Graduation Season
2007 June 6
It’s a busy week here in our household. Our oldest daughter graduates from high school tomorrow afternoon. The grandparents are in town, the dinner reservations at Brewer’s Alley are set and the fixin’s for an afternoon barbecue for friends and family on Friday are ready to go.
Congratulations to all the graduates of the class of 2007 from all Frederick County schools!
Any fun graduation stories to tell? If so, leave a comment!

Congrats to your daughter and if your life has been ANYTHING like our’s for the past few wks/mos… Congrats to you and your family for making it through!! They say – this is a process and prepares the parents and kids for departure!
My daughter too will graduate this eves from Brunswick HS – and I have been a part of the Safe & Sane grad committee – needless to say…I am no longer-SANE ! Several of the Committee members will be overnighting it @ Adventure Park with about 75% of the BHS 2007 Grad Class – and then…REST – for only one day until we worry about the kids @ BEACH WEEK !!
I graduated college about 2 weeks ago, and the only story i have from that kinda took me by surprise. My family, god parents, and best friends were up and watched the ceremony. On my way out of the gymnasium for the graduation processional, one of my professors (Dr. Routhier) from my major pulled me aside and said, “TK, Dr. Wallinger (my advisor) is on the other side, but wanted me to let you know that he would like to meet your parents.” My immediate thought was, “Man, he’s gonna tell ‘em I’ve been slacking this year with my internship writing.”
I ran into my advisor in the basement and let him know where I was meeting my family. He came up while I was taking pictures with everyone, and I introduced him to my parents. He proceeded to thank them for raising me so well and doing such a good job with me, ect. I swear my jaw was on the floor. Even my friends were like, “whats going on here…” Even after that though, my mom asked how I was in class, and his response was “eh”
Sorry, only funny thing I can think of.
Congratulations to you, TK!! Great story!
Congrats to all the grads!
My daughter also graduated yesterday afternoon (must be in the same class as your daughter). It’s a happy but sad time — they grow up so fast!
Thanks Liz!
As for TL, I know what you mean. I’ve a sister who’s 12 years younger than me, and I know it’ll only be 6 years before she’s done… time flies. I can’t believe 5 years of college went that fast! (best 5 years of my life though)
