Friday Free-for-all: Buffalo Wings

Here is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. More like in my heart, with the grease from thousands of chicken wings I have eaten over the years coating the lining of my heart’s arterial walls.
To me Buffalo Wings are the perfect party food. I mean who doesn’t like deep fried chicken slathered in butter and hot sauce. Plus, Buffalo Wings are like the new black. Every thing comes in Buffalo Wing flavor now – Doritos, salads, lunch meat, and I even think I saw a buffalo wing flavored steak at a restaurant (alright, I’m lying about that).
So riddle me this faithful readers and purveyors of wisdom about Frederick’s finest eating establishments. Who has the best Buffalo Wings in Frederick?

Gosh! “Best in Frederick” sure is relative. Toppings Pizza off of Corporate Drive (in the Giant Shopping Center) has pretty good wings, but I am reminded of what REAL buffalo wings are every time I visit family in Niagara falls, NY (outside of Buffalo, NY).
I am a “buffalo” flavor nut like you. I think Tasting Room has a pretty good Buffalo Chicken Sandwich on their lunch menu.
My personal “buffalo” peeve: It’s not a real buffalo wing served with ranch…it needs to be blue cheese!
I think the best Buffalo wings are at Toppings. They are big and cooked just right with just the right amount of heat (we order them hot). My only beef with Toppings is the blue cheese. I hate those little, itty bitty pre-packaged salad dressings they serve with the wings. Also, it may be a coincidence, but the wings we have taken out from Toppings seem to be smaller than the ones they serve in the restaurant.
The best blue cheese, by the way, is at Barley and Hops, but their wings are so-so.
I agree, Toppings Wings are my favorite in town. Luke’s are also decent (their blue cheese is really good).
Ok, I think “The Chicken Basket” over on TJ has the best wings. They are very meaty, incrdeible taste, come in many flavors ( mild-toxic,honey bb and best of all….the quality is consistent. Some places are hit or miss, but The Chicken Basket has been delicious for about 3 years now. The wings are never dry and always juicy. You can really sink your teeth in to them. I wouldn’t eat them “in”, the place does lack atmosphere, but we get take out a lot. I would definitely try the Pizza place mentioned above though, since it is closer to me here in Jefferson, MD. Good topic!!!
Buffalo, Wings and Beer has the best wings hands-down.
Foster’s Grille has the best wings hands down! Try them you will not be disappointed.
Best Buffalo wings? Hmmm. Almost all of these wing restaurants get their chicken and sauces from the same 2-3 suppliers. And making a batch of wings isn’t exactly rocket science.
