A New Name for FredNet
When I started this blog about two and a half years ago I thought FredNet was truly an original name. But come to find out it’s not as original as I thought it was. There actually used to be a company in Frederick called FredNet. Ho-hum, so much for an original idea.
So to avoid any confusion the name of this blog will officially be changing to Frederick Maryland Online. Not only is the name changing but the URL (or link) is also changing to www.frederickmarylandonline.com.
Don’t worry all your old links will redirect to the new one. The only problem may be with the RSS feed. If you received the latest post about Chubby’s in your RSS reader then you do not have to do anything.
If you haven’t then you may want to un-subscribe and re-subscribe to the RSS feed. Same goes for the email subscribers. If you don’t get the Chubby’s post (or this post) in you email tonight then you should re-subscribe to the email updates.
Sorry for the trouble. If you have any questions please shoot me an email (frednetguy at gmail dot com). As always thanks for reading!
~Guy~

Oh well . . . I kind of liked the name FredNet, sort of a forward-looking twist on Fredneck . . . as in, don’t write us off just yet, Tysons Corner/Bethesda-types. We’re a pretty cool, funky, not-embarrassed-to-be-authentic community on the make.
Actually, I was wondering if it was a deliberate use of the name. FredNet was a local ISP back in the day when dialup was new. It got bought out by Xecu.net, I think. Honestly, it didn’t have a reputation that you would want to be associated with anyhow. Now, to redo that RSS feed…
Guy ~ updated the link and name on my blog. I like the name change as it gets right to the point!
Hey Frederick is still pretty cool, funky, not-embarrassed-to-be-authentic community on the make!
Yeah, you’re right, it is.
Keep up the good work.
