Deer Goes Nuts In Old Town
Check out this crazy story …
A male deer came to a bad end in downtown Frederick on Tuesday morning.
After jumping over fences across several backyards on West Second Street, the buck headed across Market Street. The panicked animal hit a car and crashed into the window of Quality Shoe Service at 319 N. Market St., shattering the glass. One of the blows was hard enough to rip its antlers off.
Bloodied and thrashing, the deer made its way down East Second Street before a passer-by corralled it in a small courtyard in front of the Visitation Academy at 200 E. Second St.
There, Frederick Police Department officers and a Department of Natural Resources police officer caught up with it. By then the deer was in shock and thrashed around until it lay down in a pile of mulch beneath a bush and died.
Poor deer.
