Welcome to the New FredNet

Thanks for coming to the new FredNet website. Sorry for the inconvenience of switching sites, but the amount of spam over at blogger was getting ridiculous. Plus WordPress offers some great features that I think FredNet readers will appreciate.

You will find it much easier to find information on this site. The search is much better, give it a try – search for cell phone, for example. Also, the categories are integrated with the site and I have expanded them. New categories include Crime, Weird, and Growth.

If you use RSS feeds to keep up with FredNet then you will be pleased to know you can now subscribe to comments. So when a new comment pops up on an old post you will know about it. For example, someone posted a review of Beef O’Brady’s on a post that was no longer on the home page.

The comments feature is much better on the new site. Also, your smiley faces :) are automatically converted to little smiley graphics, kinda cool. Test it out, leave a comment right now and let me know what you think of the new site (note: if you don’t like it, frowny faces :( work to).

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions please let me know.

I forgot to mention the old Frednet site will stay around to redirect traffic here, but no new content (comments or posts) will be added to it. This is the new home of FredNet and all new info will be here. Thanks!

Guy, the new site looks fantabulous!

I’m glad to see Frednet move forward and come to the WordPress side. I think you’ll have a lot more freedom in what you can do with the site.

Like the new site — I’m a fan of WordPress.

Have you thought about offering entire posts rather than just excerpts in the RSS feed?

Sorry ’bout that! I updated that option and you should see the enite post in your feeds now.
