Katrina
The Frederick area is pitching in to help the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. One Frederick group is putting together Buckets of Hope for survivors. This Frederick man plans to use software he designed to help reunite pets that were separated from their owners after the disaster. All over Maryland (including 200 in Frederick) displaced families are finding a place to stay. Frederick County businesses are pitching in and county schools are taking in children who are away from home due to the hurricane. A group of Frederick area Salvation Army workers are heading to the Gulf Coast to give a helping hand. To find out what you can check out this post.

Frederick Criminals
The Frederick police said they’ve busted a man running a “massage parlor” out of his home. Apparently the massage parlor was a front for prostitution. He was also charged with offering a massage without a license (ha-ha).
Charity Bikers
A charity bike ride to honor newly disabled servicemen/women returning from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars will be passing through Frederick on September 17th – 18th.
