Happy Birthday Roy
I used to joke about Trigger burgers from ol’ Roy Rogers, but then they closed up shop and I missed them. Except for in Frederick where the Roy Rogers fast food chain is alive and strong. I sometimes slide through the drive-thru of the one by my crib.
The family owned company that kept Roy Rogers (and my cholesterol) going all these years is celebrating their 25th anniversary.
The Plamondon family will celebrate their “silver anniversary” in the hospitality business during a weekend of festivities kicking off Friday, August 5 at their first Roy Rogers restaurant. The restaurant, located in downtown Frederick at 1240 West Patrick Street, is also headquarters for the Plamondon Companies which opened its doors 25 years ago.
There will also be special offers to mark the anniversary. Specifically, all 15 company-owned Roy Rogers restaurants in the region will feature $.25 Coca-Cola fountain drinks on Friday, August 5 to celebrate the 25-year partnership between the two companies. On Saturday, the original Frederick location on West Patrick Street will feature 25% off Double R Bar Burger, Roast Beef and 2-piece chicken combos. The Frederick location will feature radio remotes, pony rides, clown appearances, and prize giveaways throughout the day.
I think I may celebrate with a number two with holster fries, yummy.

My first job when I was 15 years old was at Roy Rogers at the Eastgate Center by the Fairgrounds!! I actually showed Pete Plamondon, Sr. how to make an Ice Cream Cone for the first time!! I am 27 years old now and wonder where the time goes after your 1st Job!! Those were the fun days!!
