I can’t say I have tried every cheese steak (or steak and cheese) sub in Frederick. But I have sent many a cow to moo-moo heaven in search of the best and I think I may have found it.
In my humble opinion, the best cheese steak can be found at Luke’s Pizza Co. They have a couple versions but any will do. The reason I put the FredNet Best stamp on Luke’s is simple: real beef. That’s right, no fake Steakum meat here. Just thinly sliced beef … mmmm.
If you have any challengers let me know. I will gladly sample any Frederick establishment’s steak and cheese sub. It’s a greasy job, but someones got to do it.

Please don’t call it a “steak and cheese.” That makes us former Philadelphians cringe. Thank you.

Just had to throw steak and cheese in there to make sure everybody was on the same page. Thanks for reading.

Hey, where is the best place in Fred. to get your cholesterol checked? I think in the name of fair and balanced info this needs to be addressed.

No one ever said there wouldn’t be risks. Don’t try this at home kids.

Tried the Steak and Cheese from Luke’s on 7/23. The meat was very thin and over cooked (I would have guessed it to be Steak’um). I am going to try Bill Watson tonight, hopefully it will be better.

Say it ain’t so! I have always had good food from there whether it be pizza, wings, or subs. Maybe it was a bad day for the cook…

Try Mom’s Pizza in Walkersville. Not too bad…but nothing compares to the real thing from South Philly — Yo!!

I went to Luke’s a couple weeks after this artilce and had a similar expirience to the commentor above. The meat seemed over cooked. I will try Luke’s again and see if Luke’s still desrves the crown.
