Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all the FredNet readers. When it comes to this holiday I agree with Fritz of the Going Out Guru Blog:
After New Year’s Eve, readers always write to us to grumble about the parties they went to at bars and clubs. Common complaints: Lines were too long; the bar was too packed to get a drink; there was nowhere to sit down; the rooms were too crowded, I couldn’t get anything good to eat, etc., etc. Those sound exactly like my complaints about most St. Patrick’s Day events.
If my crabbiness hasn’t persuaded you to stay home and watch the O.C. the Washington Post has a list of Irish bars and what they are doing to celebrate green beer day.
If you want to stay local tonight try Bushwallers or Brewer’s Alley in Old Town or Champion Billiards in the Westview Promenade.
And if March Madness basketball is more your speed try the Bentz Street Sports Bar (formerly Raw Bar). The recently remolded bar has no less than 30 TV’s. That should be enough to satisfy any bracket head.
Whatever you choose to do tonight have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day.
